The decision to become a D.O.G location owner varies according to aspects like geographic location, contributions made by the landlord, size of the site, design, equipment and others.

But in short, here’s what it looks like:

The pet industry is booming, especially in the U.S.! Americans own more pets than ever before. Growth in this sector is derived both from increasing pet ownership as well as from increased spending per pet. Pet pampering has become the norm, as pet owner spending has moved far beyond simple food and grooming expenses to include innovative and specialized premium products. The bottom line: people increasingly view their pets as part of the family and are willing to spend, even during difficult economic times.

According to the American Pet Product Association (APPA), Americans spent approximately $47.7 billion on pet products and services in 2010, an increase of 4.8% over 2009. Since 1988, pet ownership has expanded from 56% of households to 62%. That’s 71.4 million homes! Often one animal just isn’t enough: some 46% of all households own more than one pet.

At D.O.G we think that the time to enter the pet industry is now. We are currently recruiting fellow visionaries who share the same passion, ambition for growth, and love for dogs as we do; with the objective of enhancing the quality of life and relationship between pet and pet parent.

Mission

We strive to provide the cleanest, safest, most enjoyable boarding experience for your dog here at D.O.G. hotels. One or two nights is all it takes; your pup will never want to leave!

Qualifications

Before you join the pack though, there are a few requirements you must meet. Starting with:

– A minimum net worth of 1 million dollars and 500k in liquid asset.
Enthusiasm for the brand and business ownership.
– And the most importantly, that you love dogs. You seriously have to love dogs.

Support

Here at D.O.G, we believe that in order for our partners to succeed we need to offer a comprehensive support and  training system. We have put together a team of enthusiastic, like-minded individuals to offer the best support and training possible.

– Pre-opening development assistance.
– Comprehensive training on-site and classroom.
– Marketing.
– Ongoing support.

Costs

The average cost for a D.O.G pet service facility ranges from $429,000 to $548,500. This depends on the size and varieties of services provided. In this amount the Initial Franchise Fee of $40,000 is included. The continuing services, or “royalty fee”, is 8% of your gross sales and the Marketing Fund fee is 2%.

Steps to Ownership

If you have made it this far, it can only mean that we already have some kind of connection. Applying for a franchise and entering our pack is just one step ahead. Here is what you need to do:

– Complete the D.O.G application here.
– You will receive a call from our Franchise department.
– You will receive a Franchise Disclosure Document, which explains our company in detail.
– Due Diligence to be completed by you and your team of CPA’s, attorney’s and advisors.
– Sign the agreement and welcome to the D.O.G pack!
