We do try to accommodate our clients by showing them as much as we can however; a full tour is never a guarantee. Please understand that tours can be disruptive and stressful on the dogs in our care. Our top priority is taking care of our guests through adequate supervision, timely feeding/meds, and maintaining a sanitary facility. You are more than welcome to come in and we will do our best to show you some of our facility.
A full day of daycare is 6 hours or more, a half-day is anything less than 6 hours.
Drop off can be anytime within our hours of operation. We recommend pick up times at least 15 minutes before our closing hours. If daycare dogs are not picked up by 7pm Monday through Friday and 6pm Saturday and Sunday they will be boarded until the following day, boarding fees will apply. No exceptions.
We require a Trial Day to judge how your dog will interact with other dogs and to see if your dog enjoys the environment. We are concerned for not only your dog’s safety, but with the safety of all of our other pets. In our social environment, it is extremely important that we disallow dogs that exhibit aggressive behavior. The trial process also allows us to introduce your dog into the general play areas slowly so that we do not over stimulate your dog. We like the trial day to be at least six hours so we have time to get to know your dog and to give your dog time to get to know the facility and his/ her future handlers.
Holiday hours vary; please call our location to find out.
We like for our dogs to socialize and exercise all day so they are tired when they get home. If you would like to schedule your pet to have a lunch/ naptime it can be arraigned for an additional service fee.
We recommend that you do not bring any bedding, toys or rawhides with your dog as they may cause some possessiveness problems & because many toys will most likely not make it through the day. You should also always bring your dog in/out on a leash.
We do not require a topical flea & tick preventative but it is recommended due to our tropical climate. If fleas & ticks are encountered on your pet, we will give your pet a flea & tick bath to prevent infestation; at the owners expense.
Dogs are generally not interested in eating as they are more interested in playing with all of their friends! However, in the case of very young puppies (under 7 months of age) and/or medical reasons, we would be happy to feed your dog in a separate area as needed. A special fee is required of $3 (includes owner’s food) or $6 (does not include owner’s food, includes a D.O.G house meal).
We require Rabies, Distemper & Bordetella (every 6 months) vaccines. Vaccines must be administered at least 48 hours before visiting the facility. We also require all females over 7 months to be spayed. We also require a $4 daily fee for all un-neutered males.
We try to stay on top of any possible illness and take necessary precautions. However, just like with kids at school or daycare, viruses may be passed between dogs. If your dog comes down with anything contagious, he/she must stay home until your vet says it’s okay to return.
The safety of the dogs is always our first priority. On our Trial Days, we make every attempt to weed out aggressive behavior. We closely monitor dogs and keep play on a fun, friendly basis so that it doesn’t become too wild or confrontational. However, dogs use their mouths & paws to play; therefore, little scratches & nicks are not uncommon. If anything serious should happen, we will transport the dog to a nearby veterinarian if needed and notify you immediately.
Yes we do and the main reason is because not every dog is a daycare dog. Daycare is a very stimulating environment and certain breeds such as the ones on our restricted lost do well in less stimulating environments. For example, a pitbull may do very well in a small playgroup of let’s say ten dogs as opposed to a large pack of fifty plus dogs. When certain breeds get over stimulated such as the ones on our list it becomes more of a challenge to keep them calm and the pack safe. Although all dogs have the ability to be aggressive, certain breeds such as the ones on our list have a tendency to due more damage when they do attack. Another reason we have breed restrictions is simply due to cost. Insurance would cost thousands more per year to cover certain breeds.
*Restricted breeds: American Pit Bull Terriers, Miniature Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Bull Terriers, Wolf Dogs, Dogo Argentinos, Presa Canarios, Cane Corsos, Chow Chows or mixed breeds that have the appearance or characteristics of one of these breeds). For the safety of all animals and associates, and at the discretion of D.O.G. Ventures, some pets may not be permitted.
We will now be enforcing check-in and check-out times for our hotel guests. This is to better serve you, and allow us the time to dedicate to each one of our D.O.G guests. Check-in and Check-out times are from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please plan all arrivals or departures within this time period. Early or late hotel drop-offs or pick ups can be arranged with the purchase of a half-day of daycare or a late check in/out fee.
You must complete all paperwork and must be current on Distemper, Rabies & Bordetella. Vaccines must be administered at least 48 hours before visiting the facility. All females over 7 months must be spayed. We also require a $4 daily fee for all un-neutered males. A trial day of daycare is highly recommended; yet not mandatory.
You MUST bring their food in individual Ziploc bags measured out for each meal. Bed, blankets and bowls are provided for the comfort of your pet.
Your dog will be in his/her own place for bedtime, from 7pm to 8am and also for lunch/ naptime. During the day your dog will be in one of our play areas socializing with other dogs and getting lots of TLC.
No, your dog will be safe and secure in his/her own private place at night. For your peace of mind and the safety of the dogs we do have an overnight camera that stays on and managers can listen in to ensure there are no interruptions while pets are asleep.
We try to stay on top of any possible illness and take necessary precautions. However, just like with kids at school or daycare, viruses may be passed between dogs. If your dog comes down with anything contagious, he/she must stay home until your vet says it’s okay to return.
If it’s an emergency we will transport him/her to the nearest vet immediately and then call you and/or your emergency contact. If it is a non-emergency, we will try to reach you or your emergency contact first to see how you would like us to handle it.
We do accept walk in nail trims, however for full grooming and bath appointments we do advise calling first. Since we do have other services such as daycare and boarding, dogs that already have appointments are already in the facility and grooming can become overbooked quite quickly. We advise that you call at least 2 days in advance to schedule your appointment. We can try our best to fit your pet in for a full groom if not they will be added to our waitlist according to time of call. Please note that we still require all our paperwork to be filled out as well as up to date vaccines.
The typical groom can take up to 2 to 3 hours for small to medium sized dogs or 3-4 hours for larger breeds with heavier under coats, and for pet’s receiving hand scissoring or de-matting. We do our best to get your dog groomed and back home to you in a timely manner. For those that would like their dog to play first and then get groomed later in the day, we can surely make this possible. There is a $20 daycare fee for non-members who require this service however members receive a free day of daycare on grooming or training days.
If you must cancel an appointment, please try to give us at least 24 hours notice. In some cases pets arriving more than 45 minutes late may need to be rescheduled. No Shows will be noted. After 2 “No Shows” you will be required to pay for your grooming appointment in full prior to your next appointment. If this seems a bit extreme, please understand that we work on an appointment basis. If you miss your appointment and we are not contacted, another dog could have gotten that appointment. Remember “No Shows” also puts us in tough spot since no shows means no business.
Yes! Please bring a copy or give us a number that we may call so that we may keep your pets’ vaccine records on file and up to date. It is in the best interest for your dog, as well as all the other dogs that come into our facility. Vaccines must be administered at least 48 hours before visiting the facility
The cost is based on the breed of the dog, what you want done, the condition of the coat, and the pet’s behavior. All pets are different. As hard as you try to describe your dog, his hair, his behavior and what you want done over the phone, without seeing your dog or meeting your dog, we cannot give you an exact price over the phone – Only an approximation.
Because it hurts A LOT and it is not fair to the dog! We will try our best to save as much of the coat as possible, and use a deep conditioner that works to detangle the hair. If the dogs’ hair is matted, the hair is already damaged and will not brush out to healthy looking or feeling hair. If the dog has a mat or two that is a different story – We will do our best to remove the mat and continue on with the haircut.
Please be aware that payment is due at drop off / check in for all our guests. Our cancellation policy is at least 48 hours before check in or we will charge the first night. We take all major credit cards and cash.
